Licensing Store Types

KIOSK

A baking kiosk requires 300-plus square feet of space with utility hook-ups. We prefer at least 200 square feet for optimal performance. An additional 100 to 150 square feet of space (somewhere in the vicinity of the kiosk) is required for offsite storage. This setup is ideal for a location with a smaller footprint.

IN-LINE

Typical in-line store locations range in size from 450 to 650 square feet. Flexible design options are available for in-line stores that can accommodate a variety of different spaces.

SATELLITE

For a satellite retail unit (SRU) location, baking is done at the main store or offsite. This allows for a unit size of about 76.5 square feet. Flexible SRU designs are available in both square and linear models. SRUs are ideal as second store locations in a venue that already features an in-line store.

FOOD TRUCKS (NEW)

Provide guests with fresh, chilled puff outside of a traditional store location! Food trucks and concession trailers feature lower overhead, little or no rent, and low capital investment. Both food trucks and concession trailers are ideal for parks, fairs, fundraising events, school rallies, college campuses, stadiums, concerts, and more.

CAN I USE MY OWN MENU AND RECIPE IDEAS?2017-05-30T12:13:21+08:00
Licensee must sell only approved products in their stores. However, our Food Science and Technology Department works to develop new products and collaborates with our Licensees and internal departments in the development of new products. Licensees are always welcome to submit ideas for new menu items, but these items may not be sold in stores until they are approved by Taste Better.
WILL I BE REQUIRED TO USE SPECIFIC ACCOUNTING SERVICE SOFTWARE AT MY STORE?2017-05-30T12:18:07+08:00
 Yes. Each store is required to use the same POS system and software so that detailed records of sales and other financial aspects of the business can be monitored and recorded.
WILL I BE RESPONSIBLE FOR USING APPROVED SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT?2017-05-30T12:24:45+08:00
Yes.Taste Better licensees must make certain purchases directly from Taste Better Central Kitchen of certain equipment,signage, and fixtures. Proprietary products such as beverage powder must be purchased from approved suppliers. A list of approved suppliers and contact information for these suppliers is given to every licensee partner.

Training is provided free of charge to the prospective franchisee. However, the prospective franchisee is responsible for all expenses incurred while attending training, including travel costs, lodging, and their employee’s salaries.

Taste Better will provide initial training for a minimum of two individuals.
This training is conducted at Taste Better’s Retail Outlet in Selangor, Malaysia, prior to the new store opening.
3 Type of Training System will be provided by Taste Better
For New Join Licensee:-The 30 Days training programme includes:

  • Retail Outlet Operation Manual Training
  • Outlet Reporting System & Ordering System
  • Live Practice On Retail Outlet ( Weekend )
The 5 Days Management training* includes:
  • TBQSS Perfect Leadership
  • Master Licensee Training
  • Recruitment, Reinterview, Retraining System
*Only applicable for 3 Outlets Licensees
The 100 Days training Programme, Taste Better Malaysia will held rotating training programme on every 100 days. Training includes:-
  • Latest Product training
  • Latest update from Licensor
  • Revision for TBQSS
  • Update for Operation Manual Training

Yes. Licensees are awarded additional locations based on their ability to operate their existing stores and their financial ability to support additional locations.

Yes. Upon completion for the security payment and acceptance of the application, a copy of Taste Better current License Disclosure Document will be provided to you during your initial interview.

 Prior to discussing potential locations with applicants interested in opportunities with Taste Better, applicants must go through our application approval process. Upon approval as a potential Taste Better Licensee, our  Site Development Department will start begin to investigate possibility for the locations.

Taste Better licensee partners are required to have their own financing in place to build and operate their stores. We will calculate base on your finance background to assist on the investment package.

Initial investment range is $150,000 to $350,000. Once applicant complete on submission, there will be investment package for a complete breakdown of costs associated with this range send by email. Taste Better requires that prospective candidates have the ability to secure funds sufficient to meet the amounts required for the particular store

The amount of money individual locations can expect to make will vary depending upon a multitude of factors, including the locations and demographics, operating costs, sales, and the overall ability of the franchise partner to operate and manage their franchise location(s).

The current royalty fee is three percent. (Subjective to Taste Better Quick Service System) This fee payment includes the rights to use the Taste Better trademarks, trade secret recipes and processes, and contributes to the overall support system (which includes training, field support, purchasing, construction, new product development, and quality control, among other services). There is also an advertising/marketing and development fund fee of two percent that supports all marketing programs.
